Pakistan fast bowler Mohammad Amir five-year ban will be reviewed only after the International Cricket Council anti-corruption code is updated, ICC said on Saturday.

The ICC board was informed that a more robust and strengthened anti-corruption code will be submitted for discussion and approval at the next meeting in January.

"The ICC board decided to review (Amir s) matter in due course after the revised anti-corruption code has been finalized and adopted," the ICC said in a statement after its two-day board meeting.
Pakistan today announced a 16-member squad for team’s one-day series against South Africa in UAE.

Twenty20 skipper Muhammad Hafeez has been recalled after being dropped from the Test side.

According to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB), Test skipper Misbah ul Haq will lead the team in ODI matches.

Test openers, Shah Masood and Khurram Manzoor, who paved way for team’s historic win against South Africa in the opening Test, have not been named in the squad.

The International Cricket Council has released latest test rankings, placing Pakistan on No.4 after its superb victory against South Africa in Abu Dhabi test, ended on Thursday.

The ICC said Pakistan captain Misbah-ul-Haq has also achieved his career-best rankings, being rewarded for his 100 and 28 not out, with a jump of five places that has put him in seventh position.
De Villiers, who scored 19 and 90, earned three ratings points which were enough to put him ahead of Shivnarine Chanderpul of the West Indies.

The South Africa batsman now trails team-mate Hashim Amla, who also gained five ratings points after scoring 118 runs in the first innings, by 15 ratings points.

The Pakistan Cricket Board is all set to push the case of banned pacer Mohammad Amir to at least allow him to resume domestic cricket when the International Cricket Council (ICC) executive board meet in London from October 17 to 19.

According to sources, the PCB was hopeful that it would be able to convince the ICC to allow the young left-armer to resume training at the National Cricket Academy in Lahore under the supervision of the national coaches.

"The PCB had hired a law firm in London to look into Amir s case and prepare a report which has now been sent to the ICC for consideration and discussion at the board meeting," the source said.
